They also apply it to solid tumors in the breast, lung, bladder, head and neck, cervix, ovaries, and testicles. Sometimes they give it on its own. Other times they combine it with different treatments. People taking it should avoid alcohol. They need to stay well hydrated too.
For rheumatoid arthritis, it cuts down on immune system activity. That helps reduce swelling, pain, and stiffness in really bad cases. It comes in when other options have not helped much.
